The Walking Dead fans of any medium fully understand the underlying theme: the living are as messed up as the un-living. Actually, they’re more messed up.
We have a new Telltale TWD and once again, we ask ourselves, “Can the living be trusted”?
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will be out on February 28th (buy it below) and we are once again faced with the dilemma:
Zombies bad, they’ll eat you. Will those non-zombies save us or kill us?
It’s called A New Frontier, but what exactly is new? Will Telltale give us some fresh perspectives or regurgitate TWD backflow? We chowing on FRESH MEAT or the same OLD JERKY?
Let’s break down the 50-second Retail Trailer:
:05 – Dudes walking. Either searching for supplies or a safe place (OLD JERKY)
:08 – Zombies attack (OLD JERKY)
:12 – Clementire fires gun (OLD JERKY)
:14-:19 – Zombies getting whacked (OLD JERKY)
:21-:23 – More zombies attack (OLD JERKY)
:29 – Our heroes approach a heavily fortified, high-walled base (OLD JERKY)
:35 – Everyone has guns. Our heroes are forced to put hands on head and kneel (OLD JERKY)
:38 – Living points gun at other living (OLD JERKY)
So, the verdict is…
Well, to be fair, not sure how much more you can do with TWD. Still a great series, and many more stories to be told, but instead of trying to squeeze out more flavor from the same piece of rotting meat, let’s get a completely new one altogether. Not sure what that means, but things getting a bit stale.
Available February 28 on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
