Quiche’s Recommendation: Figure out the download issue and this will be 100 out of 100.
The Fire Emblem mobile spin-off is a good addictive game…once you get past the ritual of daily downloads.
Intelligent Systems and Nintendo teamed up for this highly engaging F2P RPG for iOS and Android…and the game itself is a solid mobile time-killer.
It’s very Nintendo at the core. Squishy little avatars that represent hot guys and gals do some amazing things as they fight for freedom and justice.
Use the terrain and the special skills of each of your 4-person crew to defeat the bad guys and complete missions. Use archers in the back, support units to heal or augment the front-line warriors, etc. There’s rock-paper-scissor strategy, too. In this case, colors. Red beats green, green beats blue, and blue beats red. Level up, buy new gear, hire better folks. Basic RPG fair.
And basic F2P fair as well. Stamina, stuff you buy with in-game money (orbs), and stuff you buy with real money. Compete against other players, join a group, or simply play the single-player campaign.
The highlight of the game are the battles. They’re quick and simple, but addictive. It requires strategizing to arrange and position your heroes to increase your chances of accomplishing each objective.
HOWEVER…
I have already deleted this game from my device.
The biggest issue is the daily downloads required to play this game. Whenever I start the game for the first time each day, the game asks me to download new game data. About 400 MB. What’s up with that?
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I don’t have enough patience to figure it out. I’ve got other games to play and review.
So, that’s it. I’m sure I’d still be playing this game if it wasn’t for that.
Anyway, if you know what the problem is and can easily resolve it, then this is definitely a keeper.
