This post is for Madden Mobile 16. For Madden Mobile 17, go here: Madden Mobile 17 Tips for Success: Should I use the Auction?
If all you’re interested in is building a top-notch team fast – a lineup of shiny red studs to gawk at while your stamina meter fills up – then by all means, hit the auction. However, if you’re like me, and all you care about is moving up in the H2H rankings, it’s not necessary, and in fact, it might work against you. For more details, read my Tips on Rivalry Play.
As of now, I’m ranked 81st overall. The reason I’m not higher is because my passing game still needs work, and not because I don’t have super-studs on my team.
Here’s my current lineup below. The only player I got via auction is my kicker, which I wrote about in my previous articles. Everyone else I got via Pro-Packs and Live Events.
Domination Gronk has been my MVP, but I got him via Live Events, not Auction. I received Captains and Flashback Players by completing sets, which I was able to do with players and trophies from Pro Packs and Live Events.
I will admit that Pro Packs are not as lucrative now as it was in September. The only Elite I pulled from a Pro Pack in the past few weeks was TOTW Jordan Reed (85). But it doesn’t matter to me. It’s a long season, I’m patient, and my focus is improving my game and my ranking, not my players. I’ll hit the auction next summer to build my legacy team, but for now, I’m fine playing it slow.
